Polished wrought iron with a Shirogami 1/White paper 1 carbon steel core - the blade of this WAYO has been lightly etched to bring out the subtle tones of the wrought iron cladding. Tones that will further develop, as a natural patina, with use over time. It has a slightly convex geometry down to a zero edge. The handle is crafted from a beautiful piece of stabilised Brigalow, an Australian hardwood, showcasing a variety of colors from the heartwood to flashes of sapwood on the handle underside. The antiqued copper bolster cap has been engraved with a reeded edge. A simple knife built to perform, this WAYO promises to develop in character as it becomes a beloved staple in your kitchen.
N.B. An inherant quaility of San-Mai construction (3 layers - soft cladding with hard edge) is that it is more easily bent, and re-straigtened, therfore a little extra care must be taken to using the knife in ways other than intented in order to keep it in tip top condition.
