Forged from Shirogami 2 with a bold chevron pattern, while preserving the full distal taper, forged bevels bring the resulting geometry back into line for the polished flat-ground cutting edge. The forged texture has been polished, with the spine and choil rounded, making the whole blade feel surprisingly smooth to the touch. A fine chevron engraving on the brass bolster cap continues the theme into a handle built from layers of contrasting timber veneers, laminated into another chevron. A full-length dovetail holds it all together, with the brass dovetail at the butt leaving evidence of how it was constructed.
